Canon IP7250 – an excellent photo printer !! I bought this printer because the print head on my IP4700 failed and replacement of the head would be more expensive than replacing the printer. I don’t need a multi-function device and main use is for photo printing, with occasional documents and envelopes.I’d read a few reviews of the IP7250, which concentrated on printing costs and made little real mention of print quality. It didn’t help that reviews on Amazon started well, but more recently were low, dragging the average score down to 2 stars. As these seem to be related to specific issues with individual reviewers (for example, faulty units and high ink usage) I chose to go with Canon’s past reputation and order the IP7250.Two days after ordering the printer arrived, despite being the 3 – 5 day free service so I started off impressed!Unpacking the printer was easy enough, with all of the tapes which need removing being easily accessible and the ink cartridges were easy to install. Does everything I want from a printer I bought this printer because of my past great experience of a previous Canon Pixma Printer. The wi-fi network connection set-up was simple. Printing directly on to blank printable DVD and CD discs works even better than it did on my last machine and this new printer allows me to use the same software to create labels as I have in the past. I saved over £20 by purchasing this better machine than having my old well used one repaired.

Slightly Disappointed I ordered this as a replacement for a dead ip4700. It had all the features I was looking for:1) Duplex printing2) Double paper cassette3) Separate ink cartridges4) Good Driver software5) ManualHowever, a few disappointments mean that I’m only rating 3 starsa) Double paper cassette is NOT what I expected, wanted or comparable to the 4700. The second cassette is only usable for photo paper of up to 5X7. I wanted to use two A4 cassettes, one for scrap/cheap paper and one for double sided printing on good quality paper.b) Ink cartridges are VERY expensive. A set of 5 at full price costs almost as much as the printer. There are some offers, but not many. High capacity cartridges cost even more than the printer for a set of 5. There do not seem to be any compatible cartridges available at the moment.c) Software installs where it wants to, and gives no option to install elsewhere!d) On screen…
